It’s always gratifying when Canada’s world-class clean technology innovations are recognized around the world. Now, Chile will benefit from Canadian entrepreneurship, in a deal that sees a newly-formed Chilean company licensing the unique SulfaCHAR technology, created and proven in Canada.
“We consider SulfaCHAR the most innovative technology in this sector,” said Raul Salas, CEO of Sulfatech Chile SpA, which will produce and distribute SulfaCHAR for the Chilean market. “This is the new economy and we are excited to be part of it.”
When CHAR Technologies won the RIC Centre’s Innovator Idol competition in 2012, Blade worked with founder Andrew White to create the logo and tagline for the SulfaCHAR brand, as well as the company’s initial website design. Since then, we have been pleased to see the company reach a series of significant milestones in research, funding, and now international expansion.
“Chile presents a great opportunity to introduce SulfaCHAR into the Latin American market,” said White, who is now CEO of CHAR Technologies Ltd.
“Chile has a burgeoning renewable natural gas market that is eager for a zero-waste, low cost solution for gas cleaning like SulfaCHAR. Our Chilean partners have already developed a sales pipeline, demonstrating their ability to quickly respond to the demand for SulfaCHAR in Chile,” he said.
We’ll be sure to keep watching this smart, innovative Canadian brand as it achieves even greater milestones in the future!
